About
Hi, I'm Liam — an application security engineer based in the SF Bay Area. I currently work at Helix, where I build internal security tooling and help engineering teams ship securely.
I came to security from the engineering side. Software internships early in my career gave me a foundation in how code is actually written, which I find invaluable when threat modeling, reviewing code, or working alongside engineering teams — understanding the constraints developers work under, not just the attack surface.
What I'm thinking about
I'm genuinely excited about AI tools and what they make possible for security work — faster code review, better research, more leverage on the parts of the job that used to be slow and manual. I also pay attention to the security implications of AI systems themselves. The two threads are hard to separate right now, which makes it an interesting time to be in this field.

I write here about security, software, and things I'm figuring out. If something resonates, I'd love to hear from you.
